Montag kommen die Fenster

In MONTAG KOMMEN DIE FENSTER, the titular motto of “Under Construction” becomes tangible in two ways at once: the new house belonging to the modern small family consisting of doctor Nina, house husband Frieder and their daughter is being remodeled and trips to the hardware store, laying tiles, removing wallpaper and so on structure their everyday life. The materially visible reconstruction of the new house is flanked by the existential crisis suffered by the exhausted and annoyed Nina, who leaves her family after a while without explanation. Her parents’ weekend house, the forest landscape close by or a vast sport hotel (with a cameo by tennis star Ilie Năstase, who topped the world rankings several times in the 70s) are the different stations of a transition until Nina gradually returns to her family and the delayed window delivery finally takes place.
